Dodge Stratus Super Touring Race Car, 1997 Champ Winner, XTrac seq

VERY RARE HISTORIC SUPER TOURING CAR FROM THE GOLDEN ERA, SUPERB HISTORY, NASTCC CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER

This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a very famous race car with exceptional history from the golden era of super touring cars when they were built like F1 cars by factory teams with no regards to budgets. Similar ready to race cars are appreciating rapidly and currently priced in the £100,000-150,000 bracket. this car offers an exciting opportunity as it’s incomplete and in need of complete rebuild if it was to go back on the track. It should be eligible for the HSCC super touring class, which is very prestigious with many famous drivers competing at events like the Silverstone Classic. Also a likely candidate for high profile events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Please don’t confuse this with later touring cars which were modified production based, this car was purpose built from scratch at a cost of millions of dollars by Dodge/Chrysler in association with Pacwest and Reynard.

This car finished runner up in the 1996 NASTCC in its first year with David Donohue, then totally dominated and won the championship outright the following year. It was then sold to Thomas Engstrom who competed with it in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. It is still in those original Mobil 1 colours. This car is featured throughout the two NASTCC yearbooks seen in the photo, both signed by Donohue. It’s also featured in its current STCC scheme in and on the cover of the STCC computer game. Also included are copies of the original FIA homologation papers and component drawings by Reynard racing.

Please study the photos to see what is included. The quality of the structural cage, seam bracing etc. shows the build quality, everything on this car is bespoke, the build and development of this car is discussed in depth in the yearbooks. Following retirement from racing it was put into storage then used as a show car. It is incomplete, NO engine but I have found a couple had been offered for sale asking around $10,000. It does come with the majority of the incredibly rare and valuable original X-Trac sequential super touring gearbox, engine sub-frame, steering rack, complete corners with twin AP calipers per wheel front and single rear, Penske remote reservoir dampers, centre-lock hubs with magnesium wheels, fuel cell, interior carbon parts, Tilton CNC pedals, PI research dash, Lifeline quick release boss to wheel, seat and belts FIA approved & in date until 2020. Steering column just for show use. Front windscreen is cracked due to someone putting something heavy on it, other windows are Perspex, no rear screen.

Offered at an incredible price, there won’t be another opportunity to buy anything like this for anything close to this price but bear in mind it is sold strictly as is for complete restoration or show purposes only.

Also comes with a spare set of original forged magnesium wheels, spare wishbones, brake pads, hoses.

Ford Mondeo Super Touring Car ex BTCC 1995 Charlie Cox

For contact see following original ad on racecarsdirect.com:

This this is the first 1995 Ford Motorsport “hatchback” Mondeo Super Touring car and has the lastest specification. Built by Andy Rouse Engeering.

Technically the car boasts some quite incredible components. The engine is a 2-litre 6 cylinder Cosworth developing 300bhp mated to a X-Trac 206 six-speed sequential gearbox. The ECU is Zytec/Stack Display and the roll bars can be adjusted internally, AP brakes front and rear, Air jack system and much more. The cost to build these cars was around £580.000.

Car History:

– 1995 BTCC – British Touring Car Championship – Charlie Cox (used in the second part of season after the crash with his “saloon” Mondeo)

– 1996 / 1997 STCC – Swedish Touring Car Championship – Elisabeth Nilsson (Flash Engineering)

– no races since 1998, only a few gentle track days after full rolling chassis rebuild with full chassis paint job and lots of new parts.

The car is in a very nice original condition, never crashed, fully professionally checked with a new service and ready to race.

Engine is brand new rebuild with new block/pistons/valves, etc. (engine nr 006) only used one track day (1 hour)

Very easy to drive and certainly one of the better value cars to own in respect of running costs.

Included is a good spare parts package (12 wheels, uprights, wishbones, hubs, exhaust parts, 3 sets of springs, 25 sets of gears, dogrings, gearbox parts, wheel nuts, generator, spark plugs, belts, engine parts, 6 drive shafts, joints, and lots of other small parts

A rare chance to own one of only a few original Super Touring cars and an excellent investment.

Perfect for HSCC Super Touring Car Championship class 2 (1993-1995 Super Touring cars)

BTCC Ex-Works 1996 MSD Honda Accord Chassis No. 18

This Car is the 1997 BTCC total Privateers Cup Winning car of Robb Gravett, this comes complete with the Trophy itself and even some Pit boards! This car was acquired in early 1997 direct from Linder Motorsport the works German STW squad, the car was transported directly to Graham Hathaway Racing in Essex and then 2 days later to Anglesey where it tested ahead of the 2nd BTCC round. It won 2 x Independents Trophies and finished in 10th place in the points! A further 2 x 10th position points finishes assured the season winning the Total Privateers cup,the car only retired twice, once being with alternator belt failure.

For 1998 Gravett switched to the Lee Brookes Motorsport squad winning 6 Independents Trophies & coming 2nd behind Tommy Rustads ex Menu Championship winning Williams Laguna. Brookes Gravett & the car went to the Bathurst 1000 of 1998 appearing 8th in the qualifying shoot out, it DNF after 49 laps.

Subsequent history points to a re-shell although this has yet to be proven, its currently Silver in the TCR Brookes livery assuming an entry to the 1999 BTCC, the car was then replaced by a Prodrive chassis. The car was acquired by Nick Agloupas Car Centre racing in Greece where it ran only twice in 2003,the car was re-patriated in mid 2014 and is now available for sale.

Both cars are available separately or together as a potential team, each car has a running spares package of Rims, Ratios and Roll-bars, if both cars are bought together a substantial package of spares will be included.

These cars have been unraced since 2003 and are presented in a good usable condition after any required and expected recommisioning has taken place.

No attempt has been made to start either car !

Audi Quattro A4 Supertourer

Audi Quattro A4 Supertourer ex Hans Joachim Stuck

-Hans Stuck factory A4 Quattro that raced new in Germany…
This ex-works Audi A4 Quattro Supertourer was driven in period by Hans-Joachim Stuck in the German ADAC Super Tourenwagon Cup in 1995. Chassis ST07 is a very early original Quattro that finished 4th overall in the championship and had some great races with likes of Frank Biela, Jo Winkelhock, Roberto Ravaglia and Emanuele Pirro. in 1996 the car was used by Chris Aberdein in the South African Super Touring Championship and it went on to be driven in the Spanish Hillclimb Championship. In 2011, under the ownership of Angel Bello, ST07 won the Canary Islands Championship. The current owner purchased the car in 2014 and returned the bodywork to the original Hans Stuck STW livery. After an invitation to the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it achieved 13th overall up the hill against some very exotic machinery.

This Supertourer has both a distinguished racing pedigree and genuine front-running pace in the HSCC Supertouring Trophy. It finished 2nd and 3rd at last year’s Oulton Park Gold Cup and can be raced in many prestigious events in 2015, such as the Silverstone Classic. The current owner describes the car as: „on the button and ready to race… A sure fire winner in the right hands or with a novice in the wet! Very easy to drive on the limit in all conditions and benefits from O/E differential mounted PAS.“

Technically the car boasts some quite incredible components. The engine is a 2-litre 4 cylinder developing 290 bhp mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The ECU is Bosch 1.7 and the roll bars can be adjusted internally. The cost to build these cars in 1995 was in the millions and to see this level of engineering in the flesh is something very special. A spares package includes: 10 spare wheels and tyres including wets, a set of body panels, front and rear bumpers, carbon parts and brakes. A larger spares package is available through the owner by separate negotiation.
